BESTIARY

This universe is composed of various different beasts outside of the common day animals. This bestiary is a compiled list of beasts that live within this world, with as much information as we know about them. Regardless, some are missing quite a lot of information as we have only just begun studying these creatures. Take your time to learn about them, as lately it’s been said corrupted beasts are beginning to wreak havoc. Good luck!

CORRUPTED BEASTS

SIZE:

ADDERJAW

Adderjaw's are quite abundant corrupted beasts, and they can most typically be found in huge swarms. These hideous rodent creatures may seem quite small, but they can be extraordinarily deadly when faced against hundreds.

They are quite agile and flexible creatures, allowing them to use almost anything to launch themselves at their prey. They can even squeeze through the tiniest places to get to their destination.

ATTACK:

Their main method of attack is their bite, as their sharp like piranha teeth on their back and at their mouths can causes quite the damage. Not only that, but the flesh ripping teeth can cause a serious corruption infection.

VEILFAWN

Do not fall for a Veilfawn's cute cries of distress, as they are a rather deadly species of Corrupted Beasts. These clever little creatures tend to use ambush as a method of hunting, so make sure you're cautious of what's around you. They typically hunt alone, however it has been noted that these creatures do not stray too far from one another. Typically an area infested with Veilfawns can have 10-15, but they are mostly spread out.

ATTACK:

A veilfawn is notoriously known for tricking their prey. They let out distressed bleats in order to attract their curious prey, which can typically occur during the night. Once the curious critter makes their way over to the veilfawn, it launches itself onto them with it's four legs. As it's body is covered in teeth, it can bite down upon it's prey in several ways which always leads to corruption infection.

GOREJUMPER

Gorejumpers are quite notorious within Corrupted Beasts, as their curiosity and hunger knows no bounds. They are one of the most havoc creating beasts out there, as they enjoy having fun while hunting. They're awfully similar to that of a monkey, primarily a Macaque. They can sometimes be found walking on their two legs, however their real speed comes from running on all fours.

However, unlike other primates, Gorejumpers do not have a tail. Instead they use their claws to climb around, which typically allows them to be tracked as they leave marks within the trees.

ATTACK:

Gorejumpers are quite deadly corrupted beasts, as their intelligence is their highest advantage. Plus the aposable thumbs. They have 4 inch claws on both hands and feet, along with a large razor set of teeth within their mouth.

Now imagine this with a whole pack. Gorejumpers tend to stay in groups, and are often found hunting together. They like to stay within groups that range from 10-15 members.

GOREBREATH

Whatever you do, do not engage a Gorebreath's antics. If you're ever alone out in the wilderness, a gorebreath is one of your biggest concerns. These predator-like creatures actively hunt for sport, as they have no hesitation to attack their own or fellow corrupted beasts. They mostly resemble that of a jaguar or leopard, plus they are able to make a purring chirp noise similar to the cheetah to attract it's prey by thinking a type of bird or youngling is around. Gorebreaths are very well known compared to other beasts, as their activity has killed thousands (probably more) on record.

ATTACK:

Gorebreath's are solitary hunters, avoiding each other at all costs as they will not hesitate to attack their own. Their large muscular bodies are a force to be reckoned with, as they will ram into their prey in order to stun them. Their tail and fangs are also very dangerous, as their tail whips at their command and their teeth are longer than your average finger.

ALDERSTRIKER

Alderstrikes are not quite as abundant as most corrupted beasts, but they've definitely been sighted quite a few times. They are dangerous creatures as they rely on sound in order to chase after their prey, and their multiple long arms allow them to move at incredibly fast speeds. They're rather ugly looking as well, as corruption tends to seep out of their mouth that dangles below their body. When engaging an Alderstriker, your best bet is to be silent and unmoving. Otherwise it may hear you, and you might end up it's next meal.

ATTACK:

Alderstriker's are rather flexible and fast creatures, as their extended arms allow for all kinds of movement. These arms are also their main form of attack, as they use them to to grab any prey within reach to bring it to their mouth that dangles below their body. The mouth is covered in teeth, and can tear through any species.

BURROSONG

These creatures are quite literally their name, as they tend to burro within the ground before letting out a beautiful sound. Think of them like oversized weasels, as they may seem cute but are quite aggressive hunters. Burrosong's are also extraordinarily intelligent in their own ways, as they enjoy mimicking their prey to learn new things. Another key feature of these creatures is they are loud, meaning they can sometimes attract other corrupted creatures to the scene if they feel threatened.

ATTACK:

Burrosong's are aggressive hunters, however they're not as deadly as other corrupted creatures. Their small mouth makes it rather hard to bite, and their claws aren't very large either. However, their tail on the other hand.. This can pierce through almost anything, making them still dangerous. Their tail is rather similar to that of a scorpion's, as it injects corruption from the tip into the bloodstream of it's prey.

ELDERBEAST

These wise and aggressive creatures can be a traveler's worst nightmare, or at least one of them. They're meticulous killers, enjoying to bring pain and suffering upon their prey before actually devouring them. Elderbeasts aren't quite as common as other beasts, however their appearance alone has created more stories than the others. They create a raspy guttural noise, and their mass of arms on their head makes a noise very similar to snapping of the fingers.

ATTACK:

Unlike the other beasts, Elderbeasts are able to magical enhance their attacks. People have figured that the noise the hands ontop of their head creates causes auditory illusions, making it very difficult to determine their exact location until it's far too late. They are very much ambush predators, so make sure to keep an eye out for these creepy creatures.

DREADEYES

Dreadeyes, another less common but deadly beast. These horrifying beasts tend to enjoy secluded and quiet areas, and are typically not active hunters. However this doesn't mean they won't kill you, cause they are still very territorial. They cannot move very fast, so their territories tend to be smaller sections of forest lands that they can fully protect.

ATTACK:

Dreadeyes are a horrifying fate. As they might not be very physically capable since they are typically dragging their bodies around at all times, these beasts hold an ability that can cast visual illusions to their prey. These may be very minor illusions, but they can cause some serious harm to a single clueless traveler. Typically these illusions consist of humans the Dreadeye has already seen once before, making their prey see the beast as that person in need for help. In result, travelers tend to walk right into the Dreadeyes grasp.

SEAROAR

Very similar to the Gorebreath, a Searoar spends most of its time in the waters instead. These large shark-like beasts are found in fresh water all throughout the lakes in Japan. These predator-like creatures actively hunt for sport, as they have no hesitation to attack their own or fellow corrupted beasts. They can also sometimes be on land, but only for a short while. Their gills shift into lungs for around 10 minutes, and they walk on all of their legs. However, their body is much heavier on land so it makes their speed decrease twice as much.

ATTACK:

You never want to be in the water with a Searoar. These creatures are extraordinarily fast, reaching around 40mph in the water when really pushing it. This is due to all their limbs working to speed them up, but primarily due to the long massive tail at the back. To attack their prey, they are very similar to the great white and rely entirely on bite. This also means that their eyesight is not the best, and when biting they tend to close their eyes.

GOREGLIDER

Goreglider's are large oversized birds that pack together in groups of around 5-8 members. Very similar to what we know as the Ostrich, Goregliders are unable to fly but run at fast speeds on land. They are mostly found in open spaces where they can free roam, and hardly ever found in dense forests.

ATTACK:

This beast may be a group predator, but unlike the Gorejumper, Goreglider's are not very intelligent creatures. They can be found attacking one another on the occasion for showing any signs of weakness, and do not work together to chase their prey. Instead, all Goreglider's can rely on is their speed, their sharp penetrating beaks, and their massive claws.

TERRORWING

As they might seem a little cute and weak, Terrorwings are rather dangerous in their own right. They flock together in 100 or more, and can swarm their prey. These little creatures tend to hide in the brush, waiting for any prey to come before flying into the sky to show their numbers. It might seem beautiful in it's own right, mesmerizing their prey before dive bombing to engulf them whole.

ATTACK:

When dealing with one singular Terrorwing, it's not too difficult to defend yourself. However, when it comes to 100 or more of these pests, you are in a lot of danger. They will engulf their prey, using their beaks and stomach mouths to tear apart the victim like a piranha. They can strip a human down to the bone after just a couple of minutes.

HELIX

Annoying is the best word to describe a Helix. These creatures are very similar to Crows, but they are twice as loud. They can be labeled as scavengers, picking up what's left of a meal from another corrupted beast. Not much is known about their own capabilities.

ATTACK:

However, when dealing with Travelers, do not come near these creatures. They will set off a loud alarm to alert other beasts of your location, drawing them in for another meal that a Helix can enjoy later on. Otherwise, these creatures use their beaks to peck at any traveler that draws near. It's not as strong as a Goreglider's beak, but it can still be rather painful

GRIMMOUTH

One of the most horrifying beasts you could possibly run into, a Grimmouth is a gigantic beast that wanders around in the furthest depths of the forests in Japan. These creatures are rather silent despite being so massive, and most of the time they are mistaken for large boulders. Whatever you do traveler, do not go up against a Grimmouth's strength.

ATTACK:

Grimmouths do not have any spectacular capabilities, but rather rely purely on brute strength. Very similar to that of a gorilla, these tough skinned creatures can beat almost anything down to a pulp. They are not very fast however, but their long muscular arms can reach quite a length. After pumbling their victim, Grimmouths will only eat if they are hungry. Otherwise, they leave the remains for scavengers.

DEATHBELLY

Another horrifying creature, very similar to a Grimmouth but much worse. These Deathbelly beasts are typically found in the depths of Japan's forests, but sometimes can be found roaming anywhere. Deathbelly's are fast creatures, running at around 40 mph when the angriest. Their large mouths can devour anything, but their ability is the worst of it.

ATTACK:

Deathbelly's are not only dangerous for their strength and speed, but also for the ability of letting out a deafening scream that can stun most prey. This scream is what earned their name, as they produce the scream from deep within their belly and use it to capture and kill any prey.

TORCHEYE

The legendary Torcheye is only spoken on in tales, as no one has lived to tell the tale of such a creature. Supposedly, the torch eye lives within Mt. Fuji of Japan, deep within cave systems all throughout. This creature is supposedly fast, strong, intelligent, and witty. However, their existence has never been proven yet. Most people believe in the tales, but do not want to ever encounter a Torcheye in person.

ATTACK:

Torcheye's attack's are rather unknown. Many speculate all kinds of different scenarios, but the most common is that a Torcheye can hypnotize it's prey with it's eyes to draw closer into the caves. Supposedly it keeps its prey alive for weeks, injecting them with corruption every so often by replacing their blood. However, none of this has ever been proven... yet.
