QUICK INSIGHT

As of right now, there is very little known about the state of the outside world. We start off in Tokyo, Japan where many humans and Supernaturals alike have migrated for refuge in the safety of the Magi Walls.

THE               MAP(S)

Map.png

Tokyo is the last city of civilization in all of Japan, as far as we know. The ruins of nearby cities gives us indication of the major impact corruption has had on our world. The continent of Japan looks quite similar to the one we know in our world, however much of the land of Japan is now deteriorated and filled with dangerous beasts of all sorts. In order to save Tokyo, the Council worked together to create Magi Walls that protect the city from corruption gaining access the buildings and people within. All sorts of people throughout the world have gathered into these walls in order to seek safety and refuge. Heiwa No Chitsujo patrol the borders of these Magi Walls daily, making sure corruption cannot leak inside.

Untitled.png

Much of Tokyo looks the same as it had always been. Some buildings are being rebuilt towards the edges of the city, however most buildings and infrastructures remain intact. Motor vehicles still exist but are rarely seen as they are quite expensive in current times. Thankfully much of Tokyo was created for walking in the first place, so most residents do not mind the lack of cars.

The walls are four Torii placed at North, East, West, and South. These Torii stabilize the Magi into creating a defensive shield all around Tokyo. They are powered by a mana gem located in the center of Tokyo, which is located within a large Council building and safe from the public. All of this was created thanks to the Witches and Warlocks of Japan coming together to help the Supernatural and Humans defend themselves from corruption. Many people are afraid of the walls collapsing, however The Council has assured the public of it's stability.

In order to exit and enter the Magi Walls, you must go to one of the Torii's. These are the only areas allowing an opening and are intensely guarded by Heiwa No Chitsujo. Otherwise, the Magi

shield will prevent anyone from entering. It is like an invisible wall, to which no one has the strength of breaking past. You cannot dig under it either, as the walls are even in the Earth.

However, the Magi Walls are not quite perfectly circular as the city itself isn't circular either. Instead, they provide  a wide enough radius around the city to keep the people safe. As stated before, Torii's are placed in the North, West, South and East (see photo). Most Torii are intensely guarded by Heiwa No Chitsujo no matter the territory it's located in due to an agreement made by the Council... Although, some speculate that the West and North Torii are more accessible due to their locations being within Kobura or Shubaki territories.

Otherwise, some aspects of the city remain the same such as the names of the 23 wards of Tokyo City and the waterways. The Council made sure to keep as much as possible from the life everyone knew before corruption,

as they did not want to confuse the people of Japan anymore than they already were. Instead, they divided up the land into faction territories, claiming certain wards under a specific faction. Although, over the years, these have began to show large differences in financial funding of the communities. Factions are responsible for the satisfaction of their populations, however not all factions deem this as important as other funding.

Below we will provide a description of each territory in as much detail as possible, or warranted. Hopefully you can use these descriptions to determine the housing of characters, along with other in roleplay factors.

HEIWA NO CHITSUJO'S TERRITORY

One of the more highly populated territories, Heiwa's domain holds pride in their clean and modern cities and towns. Urban cities are very abundant throughout their territory, allowing for more skyscrapers to be rented for businesses or apartments. There is plenty of community parks and foliage available to all citizens, allowing for a much more welcoming environment. Police stations are placed throughout cities and towns as well, making sure Heiwa is available to their people at all times. Heiwa tends

to be what people from outside view all of Tokyo to be, a

modern safe haven from Corruption.

Modern Infrastructure is extraordinarily important to Heiwa No Chitsujo, as there is constant updating/expanding/building new and innovative architecture that can handle their high population problems. As a result, individual homes are extremely rare and hard to achieve, as buying the land designated for those homes is nearly impossible. Either you had your home before corruption, or you are had quite the pretty penny and/or connection to Heiwa. The few times Heiwa uses land for things other than businesses and apartments is for parks and foliage to keep up the communities moral.

As previously stated, Heiwa No Chitsujo has extreme population problems due to taking in refugees throughout

the world. Many speculate there is nearly 14 million people within their wards alone, as it used to be 14 million within all of Tokyo. As a result, people are everywhere. Most have to walk as a form of transportation, as cars are too expensive but there are typically too many people on the roads walking to their destinations. It's definitely not jampacked to the point you can't walk without bumping into someone, but during rush hours it very well may be considered as such. Heiwa's over population problem is becoming worse by the day, and many individuals are beginning to protest but for different reasons. People argue that Heiwa determines who stays within their territory by looking at species; removing those who are vampires and demons as much as possible.

That leads us into the cultures and customs within Heiwa's territory. These are very similar to Japan in the real world, with people respecting people's private lives and personal bubbles. Everyone is focused on themselves, but still willing to offer a helping hand to those in need... unless you're 'othered'. Much of the propaganda within Heiwa is a direct correlation to the hate towards Demonic and Vampiric figures, deeming them as brutal savages in a passive aggressive manner. As a result, it is not as common for Demons and Vampires to wander Heiwa's streets in their true forms in fear of prejudice behaviors.

Despite this, crime rates actually remain rather low within Heiwa's domain. Most speculate this is because of Heiwa's very strict policies and police enforcements, but others claim Heiwa's people are just good natured. Whether either may be true, most people within Heiwa agree that crime rates are low due to low populations of Demons and Vampires... But what if

not all crimes were recorded properly? What if crimes against certain individuals were ignored by those with the same prejudice views.... Just food for thought.

HEIWA WARDS

SHUBAKI KENJU'S TERRITORY

Moderately populated, Shubaki Kenju's territory takes on a more feudal japan take to their slight modernization. Nature is a huge aspect of this territory, as the people who live here tend to enjoy the world how it used to be before industrialization (or at least what started before corruption). Urban areas do exist, but not quite like Heiwa's. Instead these large and vast neighborhoods take up large portions of the wards, allowing for multitudes of homes and apartments in a more community oriented environment. Not many people understand how the policing system works within Shubaki, but it is widely

known that if someone severely breaks the law, they tend

to go missing or 'move' to another territory.

The infrastructure and design of Shubaki's territory is quite an astonishing feet, allowing for the past to persevere through all the years of Corruption and so on. It wasn't always like this at first, as many of the wards used to be rather rundown due to economic status and lack of magical technology. However, Shubaki's new leader and Council member stepped up to support the citizens of his territory. He is widely praised for this aspect, all the citizens usually regarding him as a fairly supportive leader. Most wards consist of tightly nit neighborhoods, or vast areas of beautiful nature reserved as sacred ground that typically only consists of larger feudal temples.

Population oddly doesn't seem to be much of an issue within

Shubaki's territory. The wards consist of nearly 7 million people, which is around half of Heiwa's population. However due to being bordered with Heiwa's territory, there tends to be overflow along the border wards which makes population difficult to count efficiently. This has been an issue between Heiwa and Shubaki for a long while, as people who are registered under Heiwa sometimes can cause trouble that ensues conflict between the two factions on who can punish and who cannot. Although this may not be a constant issue, it is still to keep in mind when considering population.

Culture and customs within Shubaki Kenju is very unique, as it is very similar to that of the past however there is a mutual agreement within communities to respect one another as individuals. Communities tend to be slightly knit together enough to create comfort within neighborhoods, allowing for a fair amount of civic engagement. It is quite normal for neighbors to support one another when the situation is right, otherwise they will respect one another's privacy. As a result of the large necessity for community, petty crime rates tend to be fairly low within Shubaki's territory. Troublemakers are typically harassed by the community members themselves, which in turns creates more inconvenience for anyone looking to break the law through petty means. However, for the more severe crimes, these are a little more on the higher end compared to Heiwa. A lot of trafficking and other forms of crime occur within the higher ranks and status. This is handled by Shubaki themselves, which not many people understand how the systems work. Most believe Shubaki throws out any trouble

makers, however some tend to believe that Shubaki may very well be an accomplice with certain organizations; if not the ring leader.

KOBURA NO NOROI'S TERRITORY

Lowly populated, Kobura No Noroi's territory is largely considered the poor and rundown parts of Tokyo. Much of the infrastructure remains from long before Corruption, and hardly anything has ever been truly updated or rebuilt. So ultimately the vast majority of Kobura No Noroi's wards tend to be townships, however there is the occasional city-like atmosphere in a few. As a result, prices are far lower for residential areas in Kobura No Noroi but with severe amounts of complications such a deteriorating buildings, overgrowth of plants, and high crime rates. As a result, those who tend to be on the poorer side financially congregate within these wards. Many people who livin within these wards attribute these financial instabilities to discrimination against species, as the vast population tends to be demons and vampires. However,

no one has statistically proven such a thing since the

problems have only started occurring since Corruption.

Although that doesn't stop individuals from speculating.

8dd4d0e950eba64153462b49a0edb350.jpg

The infrastructure within Kobura No Noroi's territory is absolutely in shambles. All structures were created far before Corruption began, and little maintenance has been done to stop them from deteriorating or being overgrown by nature. It mostly consists of close-knit townships of the 1900's, but there are some areas within the territory that have more city oriented architecture. However most things like skyscrapers and such have been boarded up due to their instability.

Although that doesn't mean everything about Kobura No Noroi is awful. It is quite a beautiful site to behold due to the overgrowth of nature, which allows for all types of plants to make their home within the community.

Another somewhat comfortable fact about Kobura No Noroi is it's lack of population. The territory nearly consists of 4 million individuals, which is almost 1/3 of Heiwa's population and half of Shubaki's. Due to this fact, you tend to hardly see people walking about within the communities. However some speculate this may be due to the violence and crime rates within most townships, but ultimately it provides breathing room for those that don't enjoy being crowded by individuals at all times.

0710aa37e437691bc7a517d890343487.jpg

Culture and customs within Kobura's territory are sometimes considered one of the most dangerous aspects of the communities. Fear and anger runs rampant throughout the streets, all for various reasons but typically directed towards Corruption or Heiwa's oppression. Regardless, crime rates tend to be extraordinarily high due to species taking on the roles society gave them from birth. As a result, Kobura's territory tends to very much be a survival of the fittest mentality.

However, Towser himself has been taking measures to lessen crime rates within the territory by squashing out any other group that attempts rising to power. Not only that, but Kobura members are not allowed to mess with citizens unless deemed necessary, so most citizens tend to view Kobura as a safe haven. They are very much viewed as bad guys, but people view them as THEIR bad guys.

But it is important to keep in mind that certain areas are worse

than others. Some communities tend to mind their own dark businesses, keeping out of the way of others. These communities tend to be full of the higher ranks, people who have a foot in the business for quite some time. While other communities can be considered extraordinarily rough due to younger generations trying to make themselves known. As a result, these communities in particular tend to be the most dangerous due to always having to keep an eye over your shoulder.
